Mobile Hotspots

You must be 18 years of age or older with a library card in good standing present at the time of checkout. We must have a current address for you on file, and you're limited to one Hotspot per account.

The loan period on a Mobile Hotspot is two weeks (14 days).

Yes, place a hold at the Information Desk at either branch, or by calling 216-991-2030 option #6. You’ll receive notification when your Hotspot becomes available, and you will have 2 days (48 hours) to pick it up before your hold is cancelled.

Only one hold may be active at a time. You may place another hold for a Hotspot upon returning your existing Hotspot loan.

In order to make the Internet available to as many customers as possible, Mobile Hotspots may not be renewed at this time.

Mobile Hotspots must be returned in person to either Shaker’s Main Library or Bertram Woods Branch. (Hotspots should never be placed in library book drop – they could be damaged, and you will be responsible for replacement costs.) When you return your Hotspot, a staff member will do a visual check to ensure that the device and accessories are returned in good condition.

Yes, overdue Mobile Hotspots will be deactivated.

There are no overdue fees for Hotspots.

Customers are responsible for costs associated with loss or damage of Mobile Hotspots and/or cords, adapters, cases, etc.

Replacement Costs:

• Hotspot Device $50
• Case $15
• Charging power supply with cable $5.00

Mobile Hotspot should be kept in a temperature-controlled environment; do not leave it in a car.

The library reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who abuses equipment or is repeatedly late in returning electronic devices.
