Here's What the Research Tells Us
The single greatest predictor of high academic achievement is reading to kids.
Not flashcards. Not educational workbooks, fancy apps, or expensive toys. Just caregivers, taking the time to sit down with kids and share wonderful books.
What to Expect
In this program, kids 0 - 5 will receive a sticker for every 100 books they complete and the chance to move their vehicle down our wall-mounted “reading road.”
Every child who completes the program can put on a crown for a photo op and will receive a backpack branded with Snowball the Bunny, one of Shaker Library’s mascots.
This program is funded by the Friends of the Shaker Library and the Libraries Accelerating Learning Grant from the Ohio Department of Education.
